Prince George set to inherit impressive role and a whopping seven other titles

The King's official title is Charles III, by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and, for the other realms, he is known as King, Head of the Commonwealth and Defender of the Faith - and his eldest grandson will inherit one title that he broke the record for one day.

In the present day, Prince George is mainly known as the Prince and Princess of Wales’s first son and the eldest grandson of King Charles III.

Despite this, the now-ten-year-old will one day become King – and will reportedly hold a title that is currently held by his father, and previously, by his grandfather.

When Prince William takes on the role of King, Prince George will become the 28th Prince of Wales.

The impressive title is typically bestowed upon the eldest son of the monarch, with George set to inherit this – as well as seven other titles.

When the time comes, George will also be known as the Duke of Cornwall, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Earl of Chester, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles – as well as Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.

George will also one day inherit the Duchy of Cornwall – which is currently owned by his father.

The title dates backs to 1223 when Llywelyn ap Gruffudd was given it by King Henry III.

The prophecy also states that that a prince will one day be presented from Eleanor’s Gate atop Caernarfon Castle – meaning he will be a true Welsh-speaking son of Wales.

The title of Prince of Wales has been inherited through generations of the male line after after King Henry III’s son, King Edward I murdered Llywelyn ap Gruffudd and gave his own son, King Edward II the title.

So far there have been 27 Prince of Waleses – with Prince William being the most recent.

The now-King Charles III held the record as the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having been granted the title in 1958 – until September 2022.

The title was, however, only officially bestowed at Caerfnarfon Castle in 1969.

He passed the title onto his eldest son upon the death of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II, last year.

Upon the death of Princess Anne, Princess Charlotte could inherit the title of Princess Royal.

The title is traditionally held by the eldest daughter of the monarch, having been known as the highest honour placed on a female in the Royal Family.

Prince William’s second son, Prince Louis, could be set to inherit the role of Duke of York.

This title is typically held by the second-eldest son of the monarch.
