Meghan Markle ‘won’t forgive’ Princess Kate – but she once wanted a ‘great friendship’
The Duchess of Sussex will "dust herself off and move on" from her past tension with Kate, the Princess of Wales, a source has said.
The Duchess was reportedly disappointed about her tension with Princess Kate
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, was once convinced she could have a “great friendship” with Kate, the Princess of Wales, but now “won’t forgive” the senior royal, a source has said.
The two royals have ended up on opposite sides of a rift that opened before the Sussexes relocated to the US in 2020.
Even Prince Harry’s communication with his other family members is thought to be minimal, even as he arrives in the UK today for a brief trip.
A source has suggested that the relationship between the Duchess and Princess had a chance to develop much differently.
But they added that it is likely too late, with Meghan Markle having decided “not to forgive or make peace with Kate”.

Speaking to Closer, the source said Meghan Markle became “particularly upset” when tension ignited between her and Kate.
The ill-feeling had left her “disappointed” the source added, as the former royal had once believed there was “so much potential” for friendship.
But now, they said she is focused on moving on from their relationship and putting the past behind her.
The source explained: “She said she’s now just going to dust herself off, have closure and move forward, without ever having or expecting a reconciliation.”

The Duchess of Sussex is not in the UK with her husband
The Duchess’s decision to move on means Meghan has now closed a door and that forgiveness is no longer an option, they said.
They added: “Meghan will not go back to them now to forgive and make peace with Kate, or any of the other royals and, while Harry understands how she feels, it’s heartbreaking for him that he has to make these trips alone.”
Reconciliation also appears to be unlikely even for Prince Harry, who arrived in the UK today.
The Prince has arrived ahead of Queen Elizabeth II’s death anniversary but will reportedly not meet with the Royal Family.
He is in the UK as part of a European tour that will see him join representatives of WellChild, a charity for seriously ill children, to celebrate their charitable work.
An insider told the Daily Mail Online that, during his tour, he won’t see any of his family members, and King Charles III reportedly “had no time in his diary” to arrange any meetings.
