Princess Kate’s heartwarming nod to Princess Diana as legacy kept alive

Princess Kate never got to meet her late mother-in-law but has made sure her legacy lives on.

The Princess of Wales has kept Princess Diana’s legacy alive through her grandchildren in an adorable series of tributes.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis never got to meet their glamorous grandmother, whose tragic death shocked the world in 1997.

But Princess Kate, who also never got to meet her late mother-in-law, has done her best to make sure her grandchildren are aware of the woman she was with a number of adorable decisions.

Princess Charlotte was christened in the same church as her grandmother and was even given the full name Charlotte Elizabeth Diana when she was born in 2015.

The church is located on the Sandringham Estate and Diana was christened there in August 1961.

Meanwhile, Diana was always adamant that her kids should be educated outside the palace, sending the young Prince William to start nursery at Mrs. Mynors Nursery School in west London.

The Princess was at one time a nursery assistant at the Young England Kindergarten school in Pimlico, which uses the Montessori method.

Dr. Maria Montessori developed this teaching method in the early 1900s. It focuses on balancing work and play and prompts children to develop at their own rate.

In a sweet tribute, the Prince and Princess of Wales decided to send Prince George to a Montessori nursery – the Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk.

Kate also loves taking her children skiing, just as Diana did, hitting up resorts in the French Alps.

Princess Kate also always makes sure she wears her fancy diamond engagement ring, that was passed down from Diana.

When Prince William got down one knee it was mother’s spectacular sapphire accessory that he slipped on his wife-to-be’s finger.

But that is not the only piece of Diana’s jewellery that Kate loves to flaunt.

She was also reportedly given stunning diamond and sapphire drop earrings that also belonged to her late mother-in-law to match the engagement ring.

She wore the pair of pearl and diamond earrings that once belonged to Princess Diana at the King’s Coronation.

One royal commentator claimed this was not a “mistake” but rather a sign of Kate “taking a new direction”.

A Buckingham Palace source says Kate “appreciates the history” of her role but wanted to “create her own path”.

The Collingwood jewels were gifted to Diana ahead of her wedding to then-Prince Charles in 1981, with Kate inheriting them after her marriage to Prince William.

Diana wore the earrings to a fundraising dinner in Sydney in 1996, and was snapped in them at a Gala dinner held by The American Red Cross and while on a tour of Korea.
