Princess Kate pictured enjoying cocktail at 24-hour ‘rave’ – but it’s not what it seems
The Princess of Wales was spotted at a 24-hour "rave" last weekend, after friends convinced her to go along with them.
Kate was spotted speaking to other festival attendees
The Princess of Wales was pictured with a cocktail in hand at a 24-hour “rave” in Norfolk last weekend.
Despite it being a 24-hour music festival, the event appeared very relaxed from a picture spiralling on social media of the royal chatting away to a few other festival goers.
The picture is believed to have been taken at Houghton Festival after the Princess of Wales was convinced by friends to tag along.
Sipping on a cocktail, Kate appeared in deep conversation with two other attendees, who also seemed in high spirits.
It clearly appeared a last-minute decision as Kate, who still looked chic, opted for very casual attire.
The Princess wore an all-black outfit, and some Veja trainers and completed the look with some gold earrings and her hair neatly down.
The night out is believed to be Kate’s first-ever festival, with the royal seemingly relaxed in her surroundings.
Kate was apparently convinced to go by her friends, Rose Hanbury and David Rocksavage – two of whom she was dining with earlier that evening.
A source told MailOnline: “After dinner, one of the guests suggested that Catherine go to the festival.
“Catherine was nervous about the idea, but after much discussion with her protection officers, she went with lots of security. William wasn’t there.”
Although it’s said to be her first-ever festival, it’s not the first time that Kate has been spotted out and about having fun on a night out.
In 2008, three years before she officially joined the Royal Family, she was pictured at a roller disco with her friends.
Fellow attendees included jockey Sam Waley-Cohen.
William, pictured with Kate in 2016, was not in attendance last weekend
Kate’s choice of night out last weekend has been deemed as Britain’s only 24-hour music festival.
The festival, which was set up in 2017, is thought to have welcomed around 12,000 attendees over the four-day event.
The Evening Standard also reported that Kate has left a £700 tip for the festival staff after she had a meal there.
