The Prince and Princess of Wales have had a busy week – from visiting forest schools to an army base.

And royal experts agree that it’s been a successful time for the pair and a “clever” move.

It comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had high profile attendances at the Invictus Games in Dusseldorf, Germany.

Prince William and Princess Kate visited the British Army garrison Sterling Lines in Hereford and met with SAS families before travelling onto Madley Primary School’s Forest School, reports OK!.

The trips brought together the causes that they both care about including early years development, mental health and the environment.

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond said: “William and Catherine appear to have a very equal partnership.

“When William has gone along to support one of Catherine’s causes, he consciously holds back and lets her show her authority and expertise.

“And vice versa with William’s causes.”

She added it was “a clever move” by the Wales’ camp to arrange an engagement that combined mutual causes.

And body language expert Darren Stanton agrees.

He said: “Their day in Hereford showed how they’re willing to modernise the monarchy.

“We saw them in the thick of it, in the woods, working as a team towards a common goal, supporting each other.

“They’re not adverse to getting their hands dirty and getting stuck in.”

He added that the pair are “so approachable” and have a “desire to be relatable.”

It’s not the only successful public appearance that William and Kate have under their belts of late.

The pair appeared in a surprise slot on Mike Tindall’s podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby.

In it they were also joined by Mike’s mother-in-law the Princess Royal Anne.

They discussed how competitive the family was and the importance of sport in children’s lives.

When Mike asked the Waleses if their natural competitive nature had been inherited by their children, Princess Anne replied: “Just a little bit, I would suggest!”

Kate then explained: “What I think is really interesting is that they are all obviously very different temperaments.

“And as they are growing and trying out different sports, they’re obviously still really young, it’s going to be interesting to see how that grows and develops.”

She added that her daughter was now able to play football and rugby at school, sports that weren’t available for girls at school when she was Charlotte’s age.
