The Prince and Princess of Wales's eldest son George is currently second-in-line to the throne - but the next few weeks are crucial to his closer future.

Prince George is set to face an important few weeks next months, with his schooling exams taking place in November.

Despite only being 10, George will need to take a few exams that will determine which school he will attend from the age of 13.

The process takes part in three steps, with George set to sit two of these very soon.

Last week, it was confirmed that the Princess of Wales will not join Prince William in Singapore next month for the Earthshot Awards.

This is due to George’s school exams taking priority for the mother-of-three, who wants to be present to “support” her son.

Firstly, George will sit an ISEB test, a multiple-choice exam which focuses on verbal reasoning, non-verbal reasoning, maths and English.

This is typically sat in either October or November and lasts two and a half hours.

As well as this, Eton – which George visited earlier this year – have requested a report from the headteacher of the student’s school and will focus on character, personal interests and academic strengths.

The results from the test will come out in December.

In either April or May next year, George will be expected to take a second test, one which will take place at Eton.

It will consist of either an individual interview and online predictive test of academic ability and potential.

The Palace will be made aware of George’s result by July 2024.

If successful, the students will receive a conditional offer and will then have to pass a Common Entrance Exam in year 8.

At present, George currently attends Lambrook School – along with his two younger siblings, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five.

The trio, who all began attending the same school for the first time last September, moved to the school in 2022.

This was following the family-of-five’s move to Windsor. The trio were pictured arriving for the settling-in day on September 7, 2022 – the day before the late Queen’s death.
