NCIS’ Tony DiNozzo star Michael Weatherly has an intriguing connection to Virgin River lead Alexandra Breckenridge. Michael Weatherly is best known for his role as agent Tony DiNozzo in CBS’ hit series NCIS, which he was part of from 2003 to 2016.

He is also known for his role as the title character of Dr Jason Bull in the drama series Bull. The 55-year-old actor has also had parts in NCIS parent show JAG, Loving and Dark Angel.

His career spans back to the early 1990s with his role as Cooper Alden in the TV show Loving seeing him appearing across 440 episodes.

Weatherly is not slated to appear in any upcoming projects, according to IMDb, but he has teased a new mysterious project on the horizon and some NCIS fans hoping he will return to the show.

How is NCIS star Michael Weatherly related to Virgin River’s Alexandra Breckenridge?

Fans may also be surprised to learn Weatherly has a famous relative in the form of Alexandra Breckenridge. The actress is best known to audiences now as Mel Monroe in Netflix’s emotional drama series Virgin River.

Weatherly is Breckenridge’s uncle and godfather as her mother is sister to the NCIS star. Along with Virgin River, Breckenridge also featured in JAG in an episode from 2004. Some of her other work has included parts in The Walking Dead, This Is Us, American Horror Story and Love in Store.

She’s had bit parts in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, True Blood, CSI and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

Virgin River, on the other hand, has thrust the star firmly into the spotlight, with season six already greenlit.

“He can commiserate with me about whatever difficulties I’m going through, and he tends to have a lot of really good advice,” she previously told Connecticut Magazine in 2008.It’s fantastic to have a close family member who is also my godfather.”

With the success of Virgin River, perhaps Weaherley will appear on the show one day.
