Did Amy forget Ty Borden? Heartland Amy & Sam Love Begins!

We’re discussing the relationship of Heartland Amy Fleming and Sam Langston. It’s been a year and a half in the Heartland universe since Ty is dead. The interesting thing though, as we gradually get episodes of Heartland season 15, it becomes more clear that Amy, the beloved wife of Ty, seems to get over his death quicker than most of the audience.

Does Amy find love after Ty?

Yes, Amy does find love after Ty, her new love interest looks to be Sam Langston. Amy and Sam are fellow ranchers and in season 17 sparks begin to fly between the pair.

Sam is the owner of the Big River Ranch and a former baseball player in Heartland. He is keen to help Amy, like when he helped rescue a wild horse that was about to be sold. This was one of the first times fans have seen Amy open up to someone since Ty.

Some positives are that Tim likes him, he’s rich and he lives next door. The slight problem is that Amy seems to have a soft spot for Finn too…

How did Ty die in Heartland?

Graham Wardle, who was playing the part of Ty, decided to quit the show.

What hurt the most is Ty’s sudden departure in the season opener which certainly casts a big shadow over season 14. Ty Borden died as a result of deep vein thrombosis, which occurs when a blood clot forms inside the body. We see him die whilst stabling one of the horses, as he collapses to the floor Amy and Jack rush to his side. We then skip to a year on as Amy Fleming is grieving and feels lost without her lover.
