General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Laura Wright (Carly Spencer) recently made an exciting pitch in response to a fan on social media. After Wright posted about how much she was loving Special Ops: Lioness, someone asked if she’d be interested in doing a similar show with Cameron Mathison (Drew Cain).
It turns out Wright would definitely be on board if the opportunity arose for some spy games and a little action! Let’s look at what Wright had to say after this fan made the suggestion.
“Ha. Yes !! we should do a @hallmarkchannel spy series. What do you say @CameronMathison ?” Laura Wright replied.
Wright selected Hallmark Channel as the perfect fit for this potential project, which isn’t surprising since Cameron Mathison already teams up with Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives) on the Hannah Swensen films for Hallmark Mysteries and Movies.
Hallmark is always quite welcoming to soap stars looking to branch out with new gigs, so maybe Mathison could join forces with Wright for a mystery show or movie series next.
Of course, Wright gets a great deal of screentime as Carly Spencer each week, so she’d probably have to cut back at GH if she wanted to throw herself into something brand-new.
Some fans would be fine with Carly being on less often, but others would no doubt miss her being front and center all the time. It all depends on how much you like Carly and her role in Port Charles!
Regardless, it’d be fun to see Wright team up with Mathison and have them play some fresh characters. Mathison and Wright seem to enjoy working together, so they might as well be costars on another project, too.
Wright’s fans were certainly enthusiastic about the spy series idea, so maybe she’ll get a chance to shine in a new role somewhere down the line.
