Bob Barker Looked ‘Frail’ in His Last Pics — Girlfriend Checked In on Him Remotely Before His Death

  • Bob Barker was close to reaching 100 when he died at home.
  • He spent his last days being checked on by his longtime partner.
  • The last time he was seen, he looked frail and used a wheelchair.

On August 26, 2023, Bob Barker’s representative revealed the heartbreaking news that he passed away peacefully from natural causes in the morning in his Los Angeles home. At the time of his death, he was 99.

The television star was in a long-term relationship with animal activist Nancy Burnet. His wife, Dorothy Jos, passed away in 1981 from lung cancer, and they had no children together, and he didn’t have any offspring with Burnet.

The television show host never married again, but he had extended family members who helped care for him. Besides being the former game show host for “The Price Is Right,” he and Burnet were animal activists.

He’d worked for years as an advocate for PETA, with the organization noting how his “influence on the entertainment industry is indisputable.” It said he used his position to advocate for the protection of animals and even urged “The Price Is Right” viewers to “spay and neuter your pets” in his signoff.

Barker spent his last days alive with someone special to him. However, years before his death, the television personality battled different medical issues he overcame.

With Whom and Where Did Bob Spend His Last Days With?

Before Barker died, he struggled for years with different health issues. In 2015, the star fell and split his forehead open and injured his knee, requiring a hospital visit where he received stitches, and in 2017, he suffered another incident.

He fell again in the bathroom that year, but the incident wasn’t as severe as the previous one. However, it triggered future episodes, including when he woke up with enormous back pain that warranted a hospital visit.

The celebrity wore a plaid jacket, a red T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers for the outing.

In 2019, Barker had his most recent fall when he slipped while walking around his Hollywood Hills home. During his final stages of life, Burnet availed the services of the best nurses and caregivers for her longtime partner, and doctors were surprised by how “healthy and sturdy” he was.

The celebrity’s partner also revealed how he wasn’t gaunt like other people at that age who were “thin and frail.” Burnet remained in touch with his caregiver nurses daily, and at night, they checked in with her.

If issues arose, the animal activist spoke to the nurses until late and didn’t mind as she wished for him to receive the correct care. The star’s caretakers even sent her videos daily so she could check on him, and they also spoke on the phone.

Four months after his death, the television personality celebrated his 100th birthday in December 2023. The previous year, Barker commemorated his 99th birthday with a small private party with Burnet, noting how he’d lived simply, quietly, and unextravagant.

What Did Bob Look Like the Last Time He Was Seen?

The last time Barker was photographed was on February 26, 2021, when he looked frail while enjoying some sunshine at his Los Angeles home. At the time, he was seen in a wheelchair sunbathing outside his home while being attended to by his medical staff.

The celebrity wore a plaid jacket, a red T-shirt, gray sweatpants, and black sneakers for the outing. He also had a walking chair in front of him, giving the impression that his caretakers would provide him with some walking exercises.

Barker had his hands touching as he looked at the preparations made by his caretakers. He looked his age but was still healthy-looking and recognizable despite his elderly age and how time and illness had taken over his life.
