How to achieve Princess Kate’s fabulous new hairdo – the ultimate ‘really curly blow dry’
Princess Kate has enviable chocolate brown locks, and rarely strays from classic, traditional styles.
From braids to bouncy blow dries to buns to pin-straight strands, the Princess can certainly rock a hairdo.
Most recently, Kate turned heads with curtain bangs and what looked to be subtle caramel highlights running through her hair.
Perhaps the most magnificent part of her new ‘do though was the volume she achieved with an exceptional curly blow dry.
Kate fans can recreate this look at home with John Freida’s guide to “blow drying your hair like a professional”.
Divide hair into sections and dry thoroughly for maximum volume
Many women like to head to the salon for a weekly curly blow dry, but it’s also a good skill to have in your back pocket in order to save time and money.
According to the experts, a good blow dry starts long before the hair tools come out.
When washing your hair, aim to shampoo twice for a thorough clean, making sure to use the right shampoo for your hair type, massaging it in from root to tip.

Condition the ends, avoiding the scalp so your roots aren’t weighted down by product.
Towel dry and apply a volume list root booster and thickening mousse to the damp lengths, brushing it through to distribute coverage evenly.
When your hair is mostly dry – 85 percent is ideal according to the expert – divide the hair into sections from the scalp to the ends. This allows it to dry thoroughly and with maximum volume.
For those ditching their hairdryer in favour of a curling tong or straighteners, follow the same sectioning method but instead of drying with a brush, curl sectioned strands then pin the hair in place.

For a “really curly blow dry”, John Frieda recommended their Go Curlier Heat-Activated Spray evenly through damp hair before the above steps.
Twist your hair around the brush and let the curls cool completely before releasing them.
Once your hair has cooled, take out any pins and carefully run your fingers through your curls. Expert tip, for a looser wave, use a paddle brush.
Finish the look with a curly hair product, followed by a little hairspray to hold your curls in place. To tame flyaways for a chic look, use a touch up crème.
With these tips you will certainly have curls fit for a Queen. On Twitter, @Sapphireblues3 said Kate’s hair was “goals”. Lucy Piper added: “OMG!! Just when I think she couldn’t possibly look any more amazing!!!”
