Sandra Bullock and Bryan Randall shared a beautiful love story for some years until he passed away at the weekend. Now, Bullock is mourning Randall’s loss and raising their children alone.

Although Bullock adopted her children long before she met Randall, he quickly became their father figure and treated them like his own. The couple met because of Bullock’s eldest child, her son Louis.

Randall was a model-turned-photographer who photographed Louis’ birthday in January 2015. Later that year, the photographer and movie star made their relationship public when they arrived at Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s wedding together.

Bullock Did Not Want To Marry Randall

The couple shared an excellent relationship and raised their three children, including Randall’s daughter, together. Yet Bullock was reluctant to get married to her partner, having been divorced before.

Talking about why she would not get married to the man with whom she was raising her children and who Bullock called “the love of her life,” she shared:

“I don’t need a paper to be a devoted partner and devoted mother.”

She added that she didn’t need to be told to weather the storms with her man or be present during hard times. Bullock went on to say she had to think about who they were as parents and if they would continue to be great parents to each other’s children if something happened to either of them.

Bullock also shared that she loved that her partner was an excellent example for her children, even when she didn’t necessarily agree with his way of doing things. She felt he gave her children a different perspective, but they shared the same values.

Randall Passed Away After Suffering A Secret Illness

Unfortunately, Bullock now has to test her theory about whether or not she can be there for Randall’s daughter without her father present, as Randall recently passed away after battling a secret illness.

Randall’s family revealed on Monday that he had passed away over the weekend at 57. Their statement read:

“It is with great sadness that we share that on August 5, Bryan Randall passed away peacefully after a three-year battle with ALS. [Randall] chose early to keep his journey with ALS private, and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request.”

They continued by saying they were grateful to his doctors for their tireless efforts to get Randall well and for everyone who sacrificed their own families to be with them during the difficult days of Randall’s life.
