For just over four decades, Susan Lucci played the notorious pot-stirrer Erica Cane on the daytime soap “All My Children.” Viewers loved the bad girl, and off-screen, they followed the life of the mother of two and devoted wife.
As much as she wanted to be an actress as a child growing up on Long Island, Lucci also wanted to have a family. The veteran soap star made a home with her late husband, Helmut Huber, in Garden City, New York, where they raised their kids.
Still residing in Garden City for 50-plus years, Lucci now has the best time being a grandmother. “I love the hugs and kisses!” she told Closer in 2016:
“And Hayden running to me in her tutu shouting, ‘Grammy! Grammy!’ This warmth from the children is the best.”
In 2018, she experienced chest pains, which landed her in the emergency room. She was discovered to have a significant blockage in the main artery to her heart and the adjacent artery. The actress had two stents placed on her heart.

Through her work as an American Heart Association ambassador, she has raised awareness among millions of women about heart health, underlining that she was not immune even with her regular Pilates and healthy diet of salmon and kale.
Helmut Huber died of a stroke in May last year at 84. She plans now to raise awareness for atrial fibrillation. “He was my rock,” the actress said. “It was a great marriage.”
Fans Were Very Concerned about Susan Lucci’s Weight Three Years Ago
Mid-2020, Lucci posted a photo from the beach of her brushing her signature long brunette locks out of her face. The beaming 73-year-old is wearing a Michael Kors one-piece with a light wrap around her waist.
“You look too thin and fragile,” a worried fan wrote. “Please take care of yourself.” Someone asked, “What happens to you? You are skin and bones! Are you sick?” A third agreed, “You are way too thin!!”

“Always elegant and beautiful!” an Instagram user countered. “She has always been very petite except when she was pregnant, and even then, she wasn’t very big, ” one wrote in support. “Frankly, staying on the slim/thin side is far better for her.” They added:
“Certainly less wear and tear on your joints when you aren’t carrying excess weight. Glad to see that this lovely lady is doing well after last year’s heart issue.”

This is not the first time she sported the revealing designer swimsuit. She was photographed wearing it in Harper’s Bazaar in 2018. Susan Lucci had admitted to the magazine that she felt as good as she had in her 20s and 30s.
