As we continue this long hiatus, we look at characters who could return in NCIS Season 21. Is it possible that we’ll see Cote de Pablo back as Ziva?
There is no doubt that we would love to see some characters return to the series. One of those is Ziva, played by Cote de Pablo.
After her exit in NCIS Season 8, we were devastated at the idea that her will-they-won’t-they relationship with Tony would come to an end just as they both admitted their feelings for one another. To make it even worse, we learned with Tony’s exit that Ziva had died in an explosion off-screen.
Well, it turned out that wasn’t the case. Ziva faked her death and got her daughter out of trouble to get her to Tony. Tony refused to believe that Ziva was actually dead, and he was right. Ziva returned for a few episodes to save Gibbs. We’re led to believe that she went to see Tony and her daughter after that.
Will Ziva be in NCIS Season 21?
Is that really the last we’ll see of Ziva? Could she return at some point in NCIS Season 21? Well, it’s hard to say as there are no spoilers for the season just yet. The writers room didn’t start up due to the writers strike, and now all shows are in a sort of limbo while the writers and actors negotiation with the studios.
It’s not impossible for Ziva to return. Cote de Pablo did leave on some good terms, so there is a chance that we’ll see her come back again for a short cameo. However, the timing and story have to be right.
This is something for Cote to decide on. If she wants to come back, the writers will look at whether there is a way for Ziva to be written into the storyline for an episode or two. For now, we’ll just need to hear some mentions from McGee. It would be nice if they were added in to know that Tony and McGee are still in touch.
