Lionel Richie Shares Video of Daughters Sofia and Nicole in Show Audience: ‘Take Your Kids to Work Day Turned Out Well’
The sisters screamed their dad's name from the crowd in the sweet video shared by Lionel on Monday
Sofia Richie Grainge and Nicole Richie are their dad Lionel Richie’s biggest fans.
In a video shared on Instagram by Lionel, 74, on Monday, his daughters can be seen having a fangirl moment as they watched him perform at one of his shows.
“Take your Kids to Work Day turned out well… 😂,” the “All Night Long” singer captioned the clip, which shows the sisters dancing in the audience and screaming “Lionel!” The pair also waved at their father as he approached their part of the crowd. When he waved back, the two began jumping up and down.
Sofia, 25, dressed fittingly for the occasion, sporting a white sweatshirt featuring a colorful print of her dad’s face and name.
Poking fun at her and 41-year-old Nicole’s reactions in the video, Sofia wrote in the comments section, “😂😂😂.”
Last month, Sofia revealed how she tried to follow in her famous father’s musical footsteps, but the move “didn’t feel right.”
In a September interview with Town & Country she said, “I spent a lot of time just trying to find my place in the world. I think everyone wants to be like their parents when they’re growing up, and I admired my dad so much, and that drove me down a music path for a moment. But it didn’t feel right for me.”
The model continued, “And then everyone told me, ‘You should be an actor!’ I tried that for a period, but that wasn’t me either. I didn’t have the experience, and I didn’t want to be one of those kid celebrities that got the role because my dad is who he is. So I was like, ‘You know what? I know I’m not cut out for this. Let me just be myself.’ ”

The American Idol judge shares Sofia with his second wife Diane Alexander. The pair are also parents to son Miles Brockman, 29.

Lionel shares Nicole with his first wife Brenda Harvey-Richie. The former couple adopted Nicole when she was 9 years old.
“Nicole was actually a godsend,” Lionel told PEOPLE in February 2022. “She was a little girl who needed a shot. She was used to people coming and going. She looked at me and I’d say, ‘I’m not going anywhere.’ “
