Kevin Costner Worries He ‘Could Run Out of Money’ as His Ex Claims Divorce Battle Is ‘Far from Over’

Kevin Costner and his ex-Christine Baumgartner are caught up in a contentious divorce. The two, who have been in and out of court since Baumgartner filed for divorce in May 2023, have thrown wild accusations at each other.

Costner and Baumgartner were together for 18 years. They share three kids, Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13. The actor and his ex were in court recently for a child support hearing. Baumgartner had filed a request to have Costner increase the child support payments.

The actor was paying Baumgartner $219,000 per month after a court set this amount temporarily. The mom of three went to court to demand that the amount be increased to $248,000 per month so that she could give their kids the luxurious life they were used to.

However, the court denied her request and set the child support payments at $63,209 per month. The amount Costner has now been ordered to pay comes as a relief to him as he was worried about money despite making millions when he starred in “Yellowstone.”

A forensic accountant who testified in court said Costner used to make $1,308,920 per month plus his “Yellowstone” earnings. Before he starred in the show, his earnings were $468,136 per month. Costner’s attorney noted that with the show coming to an end, the actor would go back to his normal earnings.

Baumgartner, who called Connor’s money a loan, claimed that she wasn’t dating Connor and that their relationship was purely platonic.

The actor also said during the child support hearing that his main concern was that despite the money he has, he “could run out of money” if the payments he was asked to make turned out to be a lot.

However, Baumgartner was not convinced by Costner and his lawyer’s argument. A source close to the former model said that after the judge gave his decision on the child support payments, Baumgartner was disappointed by the ruling and called it a complete joke.

The source added that Baumgartner said her ex and his lawyers painted her as a gold-digger and a shallow and greedy person, which wasn’t the case. The designer allegedly said the divorce fight is “far from over,” adding that Costner’s anger and revenge would end up hurting their kids. “The Bodyguard” actor has also thrown accusations at his ex as divorce hearings continue.

What Did Costner Say about His Ex Baumgartner?

Costner accused Baumgartner of dating his close friend Josh Connor. In documents presented by his attorney, he said his ex wanted an exorbitant amount of money as child support, yet she had other sources of income.

The actor said his ex recently received $20,000 as a gift from Connor, and her brother also sent her $80,000. Baumgartner admitted to receiving these funds at a deposition. The designer said she sent half of the money Connor gave her to her mother and returned the rest to him.

Baumgartner, who called Connor’s money a loan, claimed that she wasn’t dating Connor and that their relationship was purely platonic. The designer has also been painted as someone who wants to live a luxurious life with child support funds after divorcing Costner.

In July 2023, Baumgartner was spotted vacationing in Hawaii with Connor, who is a wealthy financier. Sources close to Connor and Baumgartner said the two aren’t dating but have been good friends for years.

Despite the accusations and conflicts between Costner and Baumgartner, the actor said the divorce was a horrible place to be as it places someone he loves on the other side. Costner added that he was hoping, like everyone else involved, that everything would be resolved soon.
