‘Euphoria’ Star Angus Cloud’s Cause of Death at 25 Revealed: His Mom Opened Up about Her Son

  • Angus Cloud told his mother that he loved her before his passing.
  • “Angus was a sunshine,” a “Euphoria” cast mate wrote.

Nearly two months after the untimely death of Angus Cloud, the Alameda County Coroner has released his cause of death as an overdose of a cocktail of drugs. He died on July 31, 2023.

At the beginning of the month, his mom, Lisa Cloud, wrote a lengthy social media post explaining why she is convinced that he did not intend to take his own life.

She explained that although the actor was still processing his father’s death from mesothelioma the week before, “his last day was a joyful one.” That Sunday, he reorganized his bedroom and placed his items around the house.

The rising star committed to assisting his sister with college and being there for his mom “emotionally and financially.” Before he retired to his room for the night, they hugged and expressed their love for each other.

She refuted all claims made on social media that the 25-year-old had committed suicide. Lisa ended the post by requesting that people make random acts of kindness part of their daily routine in the “Euphoria” star’s memory.

Angus was not looking for fame when he was scouted on the streets of Brooklyn. When the casting agent approached him, he “definitely thought it could be some kind of scam.”

However, he went in for an interview that doubled as an audition for a secret project, “Euphoria.” In another meeting, he came to understand why he was approached:

“Because in my mind, I was like, they stopped me because I look like I could be a star? Then I’m like, no, it’s because I look like I could be a drug dealer.”

Outside of the HBO show, he only had a handful of credits, including a cameo in the music video for “Cigarettes” by Juice WRLD, the rapper who also tragically died too young from a drug overdose.

On social media, fans reacted to the news of his cause of death. “Just an incredibly sad story. I hope his family can find peace one day,” one wrote.

“Omg!! This is so sad! Love you, Angus!” a second commented. “Forever one of my favorite characters of all time,” someone said. ” Very sad all around. Rest In Peace.”

Friends and Cast Mates Remember Angus Cloud

Friends painted a mural of the actor in Oakland, his hometown, where he had lived until his death. The painting shows him with his hands in a prayer position, smiling. According to TMZ, the site has become a place for friends to gather in his memory.

“Euphoria” cast mate Zendaya posted a photo of the mural on social media. She was amongst his many colleagues who wrote a tribute to him in the week of his death. The actress said she was grateful to have known him and could call him a brother.

“Angus was a sunshine,” Hunter Schafer wrote, “to have known his warmth, his light, and his love was nothing short of a gift. ” Maude Apatow called Angus Cloud “the funniest person ever.” Dominic Fike carved a few minutes from his set, where he spoke about his late friend while lightly strumming his guitar.
