Ever since EastEnders released the Christmas FlashForward clip, that teases the death of a mystery male character. Many theories have emerged trying to decipher who the man could be. The flash forward scene shows the six leading ladies of Walford, Suki Panesar, Denise Fox, Sharon Watts, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Linda Beale. They are all standing over the dead body of a man, whose face is not revealed. Moreover, all six ladies are either tainted with blood or are in tattered clothes. Thus, suggesting that perhaps a scuffle went down before the murder!
Now, a new theory has emerged that points towards fan favourite character, Martin Fowler as the victim! For the past many months, several clues have come up on EastEnders that has been linking characters to the death. For instance, Nish Panesar’s ciff links that did the rounds at Rocky’s stag party poker game. Then, there was the curious case of the champagne bottle that appeared in many scenes and also makes an appearance in the Christmas FlashForwad. However, now, a new clue has taken center stage.

In the teaser clip, a fire is crackling in the backdrop while the song, Stay Another Day by East 17, plays in the background. Interestingly, back in 2019, a similar scene played out on Christmas. Martin Fowler claimed the life of an EastEnders character, and then gazed into a crackling fire as the same song played in the background. Is it possible that the makers are connecting the 2023 Christmas murder to the one in 2019? The murderer becomes the victim this time!

What’s also interesting is that Martin has ties with all six ladies shown in the Christmas FlashForward. Currently, there is a very heated storyline going on between Stacey Slater, Theo Hawthorne and Martin Fowler. Martin recently uncovered Theo’s sinister secrets and put the wheels in motion for his big expose. Moreover, he intends to keep Stacey and Lily safe from Theo’s deranged intentions. Thus, we can expect a showdown between the two men. The murder happens at The Vic, perhaps on the day of Sharon Watts wedding. Considering that she is wearing a wedding gown in the teaser.
It is certain that Martin would attend Stacey’s wedding on EastEnders. There is a possibility that Theo might try to crash the wedding. Either to spoil the festivities or just to get closer to Stacey. There is a possibility that a fight will break out between Martina and Theo. Eventually ending in Martin’s death. Although most viewers would prefer the victim to be Theo!
