‘Age Gets Us All’: Julie Andrews, 87, Spotted Walking with Cane during Rare Outing
Julie Andrews, an award-winning actress and singer who starred in iconic productions such as “Mary Poppins,” was seen on a rare outing walking with a cane. Fans were excited to see the actress out and said she aged gracefully.

Her 75-year-long career started when she discovered her unique four-octave-singing voice, which landed her first Broadway performance on “The Boy Friend” in 1954. Two years later, she landed the role of Eliza Doolittle in the famous musical, “My Fair Lady,” which introduced her to the world.

By 1963, she was cast as “Mary Poppins,” and her career skyrocketed. The English native said people thought she lived a luxurious life in Windsor Palace when, in reality, she had been working from a young age.
The actress said her singing voice gave her purpose, and without it, she would have been a “sad lady.” So, one can only imagine what Andrews must have gone through when she underwent throat surgery.

Andrews has a cyst growing on her vocal cords and went through a life-changing surgery that unfortunately went wrong and ended her singing career. It left her with a damaged vocal cords and a horse voice.

Before the tragedy, the actress’ voice was known as pure and soft. Andrews reportedly tried to sue the doctors, but it did not change the damage that had been done. “I went into a depression. It felt like I’d lost my identity,” she confessed.

However, Andrews still continued to make movies. The one regret she did say she had was never getting a real education. She said her mother told her she would get the best education from real life.

Outside of her career, the actress was a mother of three and shared a long marriage of 41 years with her late husband, Blake Edwards, and her advice to a long-lasting union is laughter.

After all the years and accolades, Andrews is still thriving. The award-winning actress will turn 88 this year and was recently spotted on a rare public outing in the Hamptons.
Fans Were Excited to See Julie Andrews
On Sunday, Andrews was seen on a rare outing, grabbing a bouquet of flowers at a farmers’ market in the Hamptons. The actress was seen walking with a cane and smiling at onlookers. She kept a chic outfit for her Sunday outing and wore tight-fitting cream pants, a grey jersey, a white scarf, and white sneakers.
Andrews rocked her short blond hair and finished the look with a rose gold tote bag. Fans were geeked to see the actress and could not stop talking about her beauty.
People thought the “Sound of Music” star looked elegant. Most of her fans mentioned how much they missed her acting and her amazing voice.
