The cast of NCIS has had numerous changes throughout the years, including Eleanor Bishop’s departure. In NCIS Season 21, will Emily Wickersham make a comeback?
Over the years, NCIS has said farewell to a lot of characters. Some of them have been owing to the actors’ desire to depart, while others have been for creative reasons. For Emily Wickersham, the latter was the situation.
While Agent Bishop was alive and well when she left the service, Emily hasn’t dropped any hints about a potential return to the drama, so we can assume that she won’t be back anytime soon.
So, why has Emily been away from our screens since leaving the show? It’s possible that the actress took a break from acting after giving birth to her first child, Cassius, in December 2021. The 38-year-old welcomed her son with fellow actor James Badge Dale, six months after the couple went public with their relationship in June 2021.
The authors made the choice to come up with a novel solution instead of making a permanent exit. Bishop’s departure had been hinted at for some time, but none of us paid any attention to them. Though the character was undoubtedly well-written, we’d still like to see her back. Is there a possibility that will occur in the upcoming season?
There is a lengthy wait for NCIS Season 21. Due to the numerous strike actions taking place in Hollywood, the series’ production hasn’t even begun yet. We still consider the likelihood of the character returning despite this.
Could Eleanor Bishop return in NCIS Season 21?
It’s unlikely that Emily Wickersham will return to the series. She was ready to move on from the series, but it’s clear that she hasn’t permanently closed the door. If she had, she may have requested to be killed off from the show.
Bishop left in a way that would make it possible for her to return. She staged her termination from NCIS so that she could collaborate with Odette, Ziva’s old handler, while operating covertly. She didn’t tell anyone about this, including Torres and Bishop, who were in a will-they-won’t-they relationship.
Torres’ current predicament makes it feasible that Bishop will make a comeback. Torres threatened to kill a man in our last sighting. It’s obvious that the two had a past together, but will Torres actually follow through? Is it conceivable that Bishop will intervene at the last second to stop Torres from saying or doing something irreversible? Will she be able to assist Torres in exacting her revenge?
